The Alcoholic Trait brings an immersive experience centered around nightlife and dependency in your virtual world. Sims with this trait crave drinks regularly and receive negative moodlets if they go too long without visiting a bar or nightclub. Once they finally have a drink, they’ll experience satisfying positive moodlets that ease their tension. Note that just being in these venues can make them happier. I’ve used this trait before to explore a darker narrative, and paired it with the Basemental Drugs mod. My goal was to create a Sim who was battling addiction, which was one of the inherited traits they got from their parents. Here’s a round list of the Sims 4 Realistic Mods I used for this save. I recommend it to nightlife enthusiasts, Sims battling personal struggles, or households that thrive in late-night chaos.
Follow these steps to install Alcoholic Trait on your Sims 4 game:
Download the mod file from the link above. Sims 4 mods typically come as .package or .ts4script files.
Open your Sims 4 Mods folder. The default location is: Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods
Place the downloaded file directly into the Mods folder. You can organize mods into subfolders up to one level deep.
Launch The Sims 4 and go to Game Options > Other. Make sure "Enable Custom Content and Mods" is checked.
Restart the game if it was already running. The mod should now appear in your game.
Important: Always back up your save files before installing new mods. After Sims 4 updates, mods may need to be re-downloaded or updated by the creator.
Platform
The Sims 4 (PC/Mac)
Pro tip: If a mod stops working after a game update, check the creator's page for an updated version. Broken mods can cause the game to behave unexpectedly.
