This is the newest Sims 4 expansion pack, as of my first writing of this post. So, I haven’t had a ton of time to play through all of its features. However, I do think that this expansion pack adds a lot to the game and will become essential as time goes on. This is a pack that I wish they would’ve put out YEARS ago. It just felt like it should’ve already been done by now. The new oversized crops, farm animals, and countryside world will add so much to family gameplay. Plus the new errands system in Henford-on-Bagley gives you that community feeling that you want out of a sims world. But, realistically, some of the best features of this pack, like cooking with the family, children being able to garden, and being able to build ponds on our lots, were added to a base game update.
Follow these steps to install The Sims 4 Cottage Living on your Sims 4 game:
Download the mod file from the link above. Sims 4 mods typically come as .package or .ts4script files.
Open your Sims 4 Mods folder. The default location is: Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods
Place the downloaded file directly into the Mods folder. You can organize mods into subfolders up to one level deep.
Launch The Sims 4 and go to Game Options > Other. Make sure "Enable Custom Content and Mods" is checked.
Restart the game if it was already running. The mod should now appear in your game.
Important: Always back up your save files before installing new mods. After Sims 4 updates, mods may need to be re-downloaded or updated by the creator.
Platform
The Sims 4 (PC/Mac)
Pro tip: If a mod stops working after a game update, check the creator's page for an updated version. Broken mods can cause the game to behave unexpectedly.
