As you can probably tell from this blog, sims is my obsession, and having a computer that plays it really well is VERY important.

To give you an obvious disclaimer, I’m not a tech genius, just a gamer myself, but I know what makes my games run like I want them to.

I’ve done my best to make this post super easy to understand for those who may not be super techie either, but want to have a great laptop for playing sims.

With that said, all the gaming laptops on this list are GREAT options, but you have to decide what things are most important to you whether it’s the look, price, or speed.

Best Laptop for Sims 4

Before we get into the sims 4 laptops list and all their details, I wanted to quickly give you a couple of tips for buying gaming laptops that I’ve learned over the years.

First, if you want a great laptop at the best possible price, look at last year’s (or even the year before) model. They will have similar hardware to the newest model but will be MUCH cheaper.

Second, most gaming laptops will need a cooling pad to keep the computer from overheating while you’re playing games that use a lot of power. Overheating is bad on SO many levels, but the worst part about it to us simmers would be losing your game without saving!

1. MSI GS75 Stealth Gaming Laptop

This is the laptop that I personally use and is definitely my top pick as the best laptop for sims 4!

It’s a gaming laptop that can play sims 4 and all expansions incredibly well on the highest graphics settings with tons of storage for mods and custom content.

The design is thin and lightweight which makes it easy to play wherever I want (I prefer to play in bed but that’s just me…)

And it has nice feminine touches like rose gold accents and a customizable keyboard.

Overall, it’s just amazing and for the price, you’ll be hard-pressed to find another laptop that has everything this one does!

Why You Should Buy This Laptop:

• My absolute favorite thing about this laptop is how aesthetic it is. It has rose gold accents which add a subtle touch of feminity, but it’s not just a pink “gamer girl” laptop.
• You can run Sims 4 at the HIGHEST graphics settings and the game still runs super smooth.
• It comes with a Steelseries RGB keyboard that is highly customizable. If you wanted to, you could even edit your keys to show all the sims 4 hotkeys in one color or multiple colors based on their use.
• It has a larger screen than your average laptop. (17.3″ vs 15.6″)
• There is more than enough storage for all of the mods and cc you could possibly want in your game!

Things to Consider:

• Overheating is a common issue for thinner gaming laptops when you’re running big games. To combat that issue, I use a cooling pad at all times. This allows for extra airflow and ventilation.
• To have the best performance while gaming, you’ll need to have this laptop constantly plugged in or you’ll experience lag.

2. Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-53E5 Gaming Laptop

The Acer Nitro 5 is the PERFECT introduction to gaming laptops because it’s cheaper than most, but still has the capabilities of a more expensive gaming laptop.

While it only comes with a limited amount of RAM, (which may affect the smoothness of your gameplay if you have too much running at one time) this can be upgraded pretty easily and inexpensively with another 8GB stick of ram.

• When it comes to storage, there is enough space for the Sims 4 with all expansion packs and room left over for TONS of mods and custom content.
• Because of its hardware and HD screen, Sims 4 will look and run amazingly on high graphics.

• If you want to be a real gamer (totally kidding) and have a multi-monitor setup, this laptop allows for that with an HDMI port.

Things to Consider:

• It has fewer processors than some of the more expensive gaming laptops, so if you’re trying to do too much at once, you may find that your computer starts running slower.

3. Lenovo Legion 5 Gaming Laptop

As mentioned previously, a big issue for gaming laptops is overheating. Most of them have loud and obnoxious fans to help prevent this.

With the Lenovo Legion 5, you’ll get a quiet, dual-fan cooling system so you won’t have to worry about the extra expense of buying a cooling pad.

Things to Consider:

• The majority of the ports on this laptop are along the back side, so depending on your setup you may have issues with space and desk layout, especially if you have a narrow desk against a wall.

Things to Consider:

• This is the most expensive sims 4 laptop on this list, so be prepared to pay a high price for all of its amazing features.

5. Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-54-760S Gaming Laptop

When it comes to a gaming laptop, some things that are important to me are good graphics, fast response time, and of course, RGB lights.

The Acer Predator Helios 300 has all of these things and more!

It’s actually SUPER similar to my top pick without some of the aesthetic benefits.

Why You Should Buy This Laptop:

• Comes with a customizable keyboard with 4 separate zones, including preset flow patterns that make colors dance across the keys.
• This laptop has a fast, clear screen for great visuals.
• Compared to other laptops on this list, this one has a good amount of memory, allowing for multitasking. Perfect for simmers who want to stream or make Youtube videos!

Things to Consider:

• As with a lot of the other gaming laptops, battery life is not a strong suit and you’ll want to keep it plugged in, especially when gaming.

6. Lenovo IdeaPad 3 Gaming Laptop

If you’re looking for a great gaming laptop, but you don’t have a whole lot of money to spend, this is the best cheap laptop for sims 4!

It doesn’t come with pricey, high-end hardware but the sims will still run great with plenty of storage space left over for mods and custom content.

Why You Should Buy This Laptop:

• This laptop has a large 15.6 inch full HD screen but is still thin and lightweight.
• It comes with an NVIDIA GeForce graphics card which is my personal preference for gaming. I’ve had an AMD graphics card in a desktop build, and I just didn’t like it nearly as much as my computers with an NVIDIA graphics card.
• Great price for what you get!

Things to Consider:

• While it doesn’t have nearly as much storage as other laptops on this list, it’s more than enough for playing the sims.
• There’s only 8GB of ram, but once again it can be upgraded pretty inexpensively by adding another 8GB stick.

7. ASUS TUF Dash 15 (2021) Ultra Slim Gaming Laptop

If you are wanting a gaming laptop that makes it easy to play sims anywhere, this is the perfect pick!

It’s “ultra-slim” meaning it’s super lightweight and portable, but still has all the high-end gaming components you need.

Why You Should Buy This Laptop:

• This laptop has amazing battery life! For everyday use, you’ll get an average of over 16 hours. But for best performance while gaming, you’ll probably still want to keep it plugged in.
• If you like to play anywhere and everywhere or plan on throwing your laptop in a backpack, you’ll really appreciate how lightweight this laptop is.
• One of the things I really like about this laptop is that the WASD keys are a different color than the rest of the keyboard making it perfect for gaming.

Things to Consider:

• In my personal opinion, this laptop is not as aesthetically pleasing. It is pretty masculine and simple. However, if you don’t mind spending a little extra, there is an upgraded version in moonlight white.
• There’s no webcam included, so if you are going to use this computer for school too, you may need to get something like this for any video calls or recording.

8. Victus 16 Gaming Laptop

Several years ago, HP started making gaming laptops under the brand Omen. Since then they have added another brand, Victus, that is for the everyday gamer.

The Victus laptops are more budget-friendly, but still have everything you need for quality gameplay!

• If you’re a creator, this laptop comes with an SD card slot which is rare these days.
• It has similar hardware to my top pick, the MSI, but at a cheaper price.

Things to Consider:

• It’s heavier, weighing in at 5.5 pounds, compared to other laptops on this list.
• Once again, this gaming laptop isn’t as attractive because of its simple design and sharp angles.

9. Razer Blade 15 Advanced Gaming Laptop 2020

This laptop absolutely had to be on the list because it has everything you could ask for when it comes to playing the sims like super-smooth gameplay, fast loading times, and plenty of storage!

Because it’s an older model, you’re still getting top-quality hardware that will run your games perfectly, but at a lower price than the newer models.

Why You Should Buy This Laptop:

• Similar to the MSI, this laptop comes with a per-key Chroma RGB keyboard which allows you to change each key’s light color individually.
• The NVIDIA graphics card and HD screen allow for a high frame rate that will keep all of your games, especially the sims, looking as smooth as possible.
• Because of its high processor count and available ram, you can count on your sims save loading quickly.

Things to Consider:

• Although it’s an older model, because of its excellent hardware, it’s still on the pricier end of the spectrum.

Is PC or laptop better for Sims 4?

I really believe this is a matter of personal preference, so I’ll tell you mine.

Laptops are better for Sims 4, with the exception of a Macbook.

With the latest advancements in technology, laptops can be nearly as powerful as a desktop PC.

So, if you buy a great gaming laptop (like this one) you’re not really missing out on higher quality graphics or faster loading times. It’s basically the same.

But the added benefit of a laptop being that you have the freedom to take your game with you and play pretty much anywhere.

When I was using a desktop, I was trapped to a desk anytime I wanted to play the sims.

I like being able to play in bed when I’m sick or on the couch next to my boyfriend while he plays the Xbox.

And if you want more of a desktop gaming setup, most gaming laptops allow you to plug in an additional monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc., to still get that same experience when you want it!
