Skin details are the CAS layer most people skip and then wonder why their sims look slightly uncanny. Vanilla skin is flat. No freckles, no moles, no cheek blush that actually sits on the face, no body hair that looks like anything other than a shadow. Community skin overlays fix all of this with a few CAS clicks.
We've pulled together about 275 skin detail picks: full skin overlays that replace the base texture, freckle maps, mole placement sets, nose bridge details, cheek blushes, body hair, pregnancy stretch marks, and the specialty stuff like aging details and sunspots. Pralinesims and Obscurus-Sims turn up a lot here because they've been shipping realistic skin overlays for years, but there's a long tail of smaller skin creators doing great work on specific features.
Most of these stack — you can layer a skin overlay, freckles, a blush, and a nose detail all on one sim. The trick is stopping before you over-CAS them into looking like a different art style than the hair and clothes you're using.

The set focuses on depth, warmth, and natural shading, making it ideal for modern urban gameplay, storytelling, and realistic CAS creations. The Sims 4 skin overlay cc has a low poly count and includes two eyebrow variants, black and none, allowing you to fully customize your Sim’s look. I have to admit, the TS4 Body Preset Petite Series is the most thoughtfully designed petite body preset series I’ve seen. The Sims 4 body presets are a shorter, more compact body shape with more petite, natural body proportions. You get four shape variations: Each preset is adjusted to minimize outfit distortion and maintain clean clothing fits across swimsuits, skirts, and pants. The creator recommends leaving the chest center unmodified to help prevent button and fabric warping.
Not many creators design skin presets or overlays for kids, but I was able to find this one by trillqueen. It’s a full-body skin pack with six unique child skins, each available in browed and browless versions. You can use the Sims 4 skin overlay on both male and female kids. The pack is found under the “right cheek mole” category in skin details. It was updated for patch v1.89.214, so be sure to download the latest version to ensure it works seamlessly in your game.
