The mod comes with new materials, ingredient requirements, glazing mechanics, and even a Kintsugi repair system. You’ll also find a new way to gather clay from the world, making pottery feel more rewarding and less menu-driven.

Since crafting with ingredients remains optional by default, you can still create ceramics with money or combine both systems. Note that players who use the Simple Living lot challenge will need ingredients for every recipe, similar to cooking.

How to Install:

• Install the Lot51 Core Library.

• Download and extract the mod files with WinRAR or 7-Zip.
• Place the files inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods.
• Keep script files no deeper than one folder inside the Mods directory.
• Enable Script Mods and Custom Content in the game settings.

This overhaul adds much more depth to pottery gameplay and makes gathering, crafting, glazing, and repairing ceramics feel far more hands-on.

Small Pottery Overhaul

Small Pottery Overhaul is a lightweight gameplay mod created for players who want more control over pottery crafting. There’s a settings menu with adjustable crafting speeds, optional clay requirements, and automatic inventory placement for completed pieces.

The mod also makes the pottery wheel and kiln usable off the grid. This feature makes it perfect for homestead and off-the-grid saves. Note that settings apply to each pottery wheel individually, meaning you’ll have plenty of flexibility when customizing gameplay.

You’ll also get four crafting speed options to match your playstyle. Faster settings increase pottery progress by 50% or 100%, while slower settings reduce progress by 50%, 100%, or even 200% for players who prefer a more realistic pace.

Saffron & Stone – Ceramics & Cosmetics Studio

You’ll need these packs for the studio to function properly:

Since the download weighs roughly 2.71 GB, make sure you have enough storage space before installing. If you have a lower-end computer, you may also experience longer loading times due to the large number of files included.

Historical Pottery Wheel & Kiln Recolors

These recolors are rustic replacements designed to help the Business & Hobbies pottery objects blend naturally into medieval, historical, and off-the-grid saves. The set replaces the modern appearance with wood and stone textures, making pottery workshops feel more believable.

These recolors also appear under the Off-the-Grid categories, so they match homestead and centuries-inspired builds more effectively. Keep in mind that these are visual recolors only.

The pottery wheel and kiln still require power and don’t become fully functional off the grid. You’ll also need the Businesses & Hobbies Expansion Pack. I also recommend installing LittleMsSam’s mod. Without it, the kiln remains non-functional off the grid.

Ancient Kiln & Pottery Set

Ancient Kiln & Pottery Set is a handcrafted Sims 4 pottery cc collection inspired by traditional Chinese ceramic craftsmanship. The pack includes an animated egg-shaped kiln with a brick chimney, ceramic shard flooring, a clay-stained apron, and traditional firing accessories. The kiln comes in two versions: an original model with a subtle smoke effect and a newer version with continuous smoke.

I prefer the newer Real-Smoke kiln because the smoke animation runs continuously and looks much more realistic. Note that the original version only produces light smoke for a short period and requires replacing the object to restart the animation.

Be careful when downloading this set because the updated ZIP file contains five items and mainly recognizes the new Real-Smoke kiln. If you prefer the original light-smoke version, download the older ZIP file instead. Avoid keeping both versions together to prevent confusion.

Functional Pottery Wheel

Functional Pottery Wheel is a fully interactive pottery station that lets your Sim create ceramic pieces while developing their crafting skills. The mod introduces a dedicated “Buy Pottery Supplies” interaction where Sims can purchase lumps of clay for 6 simoleons. Larger creations require more clay, and if your Sim is adventurous, they can dig for clay using the special Dirt Pile object found in Debug mode. Digging typically rewards between 8 and 10 lumps of clay.

This Sims 4 pottery mod is a must-have in artisan households, historical saves, and hobby-focused gameplay, as it gives creative Sims another skill to master outside of painting or woodworking. The station also comes with ten recolors and includes an optional preference file for players who want Sims to have likes and dislikes related to pottery.

Note that if you use the likes and dislikes system, you’ll find Pottery under the Hobbies and Skills category in Create-a-Sim. If there’s no preference selected, the game will occasionally display a pop-up asking whether your Sim likes or dislikes pottery, similar to how other likes and dislikes are assigned. The preference file is completely optional, so you can safely skip it without affecting the functionality of the pottery wheel.

Zora Ceramics

Zora Ceramics is a charming custom pottery shop built inside a pink three-story townhouse. The lot includes dedicated ceramic workspaces, display shelves, and inviting rooms filled with handcrafted décor. It’s the perfect build for storytelling saves centered around artisans and small businesses.

The download includes all required custom content and comes in at roughly 222 MB, so make sure you have enough storage before installing. Although the creator recommends having many packs for the best appearance, the lot may still work well with fewer packs, depending on your collection.

Remember that the game may warn you that two items are missing after placing the lot. Don’t worry, nothing is actually missing. This appears to be a harmless false warning from the build, so you can safely ignore the notification and continue playing normally.

Funny Apron Wall

If you’re looking for cute wall décor to brighten up your Sim’s pottery room or country-style kitchen, check out the Funny Apron Wall pack. This decorative set includes six apron designs with colorful patterns, pockets, and small accessories attached to each piece.

The apron comes in 6 swatches, giving you enough options to match your style. I recommend using these aprons in bakeries, cafés, craft studios, and family kitchens.

Chaotic Clothes Overlays
