Coming from my experience of being a sims lover and gamer the majority of my life, I’m giving you over 25 game recommendations that I’m almost certain you’ll enjoy if you like the sims.

My criteria for a game being put on this list was this:

  • must be a simulation or life simulation game
  • must be a PC game
  • must be a game that I could spend HOURS playing (basically I forget about my life and all other responsibilties✌️)

That’s it! This means that you’ll find some unconventional and different game ideas than you what you’ve seen other lists of games like the sims. So my hope is that you find some new favorite games when reading this!

Oh, and if you’re also looking for fun ways to spice up your sims 4 gameplay because sims 4 got boring, here are a few posts of mine that will help you have more fun:

Here are the best games to play that are like The Sims.

Best Games Like The Sims

Within this list of games that are like the sims, I’ve linked to where you can purchase each game. Some of which you can buy on Humble Bundle.

It’s an incredible gaming website where you can buy popular games and a portion of what you spend goes to a charity of your choosing!

When you buy the game, you’ll get a key to redeem on your regular gaming platforms like Steam, Origin, Ubisoft, etc. It’s totally legit and helps to support those in need!

You can shop Humble Bundle here and learn about their Humble Choice Subscription where you’ll receive 10 games a month for a super cheap monthly fee and discounts on almost all games (including Sims 4 packs!!)

This is one of my personal favorite games like the sims! I’ve put over 150 hours into it. I have so many good memories of playing this game over the past few years.

In Project Highrise, you are in charge of building up and managing a skyscraper. You’ll receive rent payments for putting stores, hotel rooms, offices, etc. into your tower.

And from the same creators of My Time at Portia, My Time at Sandrock is another post-apocalyptic life simulator. This time the game is set in a desert environment (and comes with improved graphics!)

Unfortunately, this game has not been released yet. I’ve been anxiously awaiting a release date for what feels like YEARS at this point.

From what I understand, the game is being developed in China and they’re having a difficult time getting a rating from the Chinese government which is required for release.

As soon as that has been completed, they should start to go into early access. YAY!

This is one of what I would consider an “unconventional pick” for this list because these aren’t exactly life simulation games, they’re time-management.

But each of the games has aspects that I think someone who plays the sims would enjoy.

I, myself, have played Gamehouse games since I was a very little girl, around the same time that I really got into The Sims. So, maybe you’ll like them too!

Paralives is an upcoming life simulator that is VERY similar to The Sims. It’s an indie game that is still in development.

From what I understand, the developers are working to improve upon The Sims franchise and hoping to give players features that they have wanted from EA for a long time.

I’m not even going to attempt to create a list of ways Paralives is like The Sims because it’s essentially the same game, but with added features and a different art style.

You’ll probably enjoy this game if you like The Sims.

You can’t preorder the game yet; however, since this is a game made by a completely independent team, you can support their Patreon for a few bucks a month!
